HEMPFLAX HB® (lime hemp) is a very strong, breathable and extremely durable construction material. It is a mixture of the milled wooden core of the industrial hemp plant and a lime-based binder. A lightweight material with excellent insulating properties. The unique thermal properties undeniably contribute to a healthy and sustainable living environment.

Application

HempFlax HB® is a biocomposite material that can be used for wall and roof constructions. It is not load-bearing on its own, but is cast or sprayed around a wooden or steel frame. It being so light means that the frame can be light too. When using lime hemp, there’s no longer a need for extra insulating layers such as a cavity wall. Due to its breathability and heat-storing capacity, the need for heating or air conditioning systems becomes even smaller.
